SPACES
A music project inspired by the city of Gloucester and pulled together by composer and music producer, George Moorey. As project artist I have been inspired by the music to create several art pieces that will sit alongside the main project. I'll post more when the project is launched in the autumn of 2018. A collaborative poem - each verse is a unique memory, recalled by a different person. Individually they are unrelated but together they speak of our collective experience of the human condition. We have voices from: a soldier, clothes designer, lawyer, midwife, journalist, teacher, translator, nurse, artist, hairdresser, youth worker, end of life carer, social worker and a vicar, amongst others.
Alfred the Great's daughter, warrior queen, buried in Gloucester. I have created an Icon painting of Æthelflaed as part of the Spaces project. Her life will be celebrated by the city of Gloucester in June 2018 and my painting will feature.
I was approached by Create Gloucestershire to facilitate a workshop celebrating the centenary of Women’s Suffrage. The workshop was based around my artwork – ‘Vote 100 Gloucester’.
I'm interested in community based collaborations, particularly exploring faith, relationships, feminism and
well being.
